Well here we are – 2009.

If you ever want to experience total and utter quiet just do what I did this morning.

For some strange reason after staying up until 1am on the 1st I was again awake at 7am.

Restless, I got dressed and headed outside into the sunshine – you could hear a pin drop.

I swear it was so quiet (everyone must have been in bed asleep and/or hungover) it was like a scene from that movie The Quiet Earth.
