Stepping out

Tonight my wife and I said goodnight to the kids leaving our eldest teenage daughter in charge while we headed off to a meal at a local restaurant in town.

The meal was great and it was nice to be out – too soon to go home just yet we both said to ourselves.

So what to do next? A movie – why not?

But when we arrived we discovered nothing that took our fancy – so now what to do?

A show? Yeah! but you guessed it, when we looked around nothing was on – the next one (a romantic comedy just in time for Valentines day) starts in just a few days!

By this stage we had opted to hire out a movie and watch it when we got home.

After 20 mins in the DVD store even this was not looking promising.

End result…Heading home only a few hours after heading out feeling somewhat aged and recalling the halcyon days of teenage years when staying out meant not coming home until well after 2am.

Next time we head out we’ll go on a night we know there will be something on after dinner  - lesson learnt
