Twitter Update
Funny thing Twitter.
It’s the only experience I have had in this life where a US President wants to take an interest and  ’follow’ what I say.
I start ‘following’ Barack Obama and within minutes he’s ‘following’ me.
Now I’m by no means implying that the US President was using his blackberry, saw me join his followers, and thought ‘hey that’s that guy Paul Hayton in New Zealand I’ve heard so much about I simply have to keep up with his tweets!”
As much as I’d like to think that, it’s apparent there are wider social networking principles at play, and Mr Obama is the first uber high profile politician of his time to leverage them to the max.
Twitter is a social networking device like no other.
It’s spawned a number of look-a-like services and third party apps to help those who need to be ‘everywhere online at once’.
However in the end – there’s only one Twitter.
While using Twitter I’ve found a few old mates and made a few new ones.
Over the next three months I wonder who else will care to ‘follow’ me and who I choose to become a ‘follower’ of?
