Winters First Bite

Winter arrived in Dunedin today with the first real cold blasts of air, hail, some snow on the hills – that sort of thing.

While walking to the University from work on my way to a lecture today I was struck not by the sudden change in the weather patterns but by the carnage I saw in the rubbish bins and on the footpaths I passed by.

Not one, but three blown out, beaten up umbrellas lost their lives today in the line of duty… heck one umbrella I saw on the footpath only had the bit you hang onto left… not one small piece of black fabric could be found anywhere.

Strange what you notice when you walk along eh?

PS I got my 25% assignment in a day early – I’m rapt.. now just waiting for the results
