iPod touch – always on shuffle?

I’ve been a little quiet lately on the blogging front but that’s been largely due to a few things like work, university exams and birthdays.

For the latter I was given an iPod Touch and have been enjoying using the device more for it’s online social networking connectivity than for its ability to hold and play back 1000+ songs.

After installing a few social networking apps (Facebook, Twitter etc.) I decided one morning I had better give the music functionality a tilt.

Walking in to work with white ear buds on, music playing I used the shake to shuffle feature and thought nice… but when I pocketed the unit and kept walking I discovered the iTouch thought I was still in to ‘shuffle.

For every 10-20 steps I took the iTouch decided I had asked for another ‘song with shuffle’ and promptly switched tracks on me mid flight.

Kind of funny the first time, downright annoying after the 3rd or 4th.

Funny – I never considered myself a human ‘shuffle’ machine, in fact I’d always tried to walk in a fairly straight line with head held high.

The ‘shuffle’ issue aside I’ve enjoyed playing with this bit of tech.

A ZuneHD may well still be on the horizon for me or perhaps waiting until Windows Mobile 7 comes along to give Apple a run for its money.

Then again an iPhone would be nice for Christmas.
