Blogging

“I’ve been rather quiet here lately” is something I tend to read quite a bit when I read other folks blogs and bugger me if I’m doing it too :-)

Work is spent all day in front of a screen building new web pages while my after hours spare time seems to be taken up by either gym visits, family outings, sleeping and eating.

Rather poor excuses for not blogging really eh?

Actually, when I stop and think about it a bit more I’d suggest my blogging has never been more active these past few months.

However the size of the blogging effort per post has reduced down from several hundred words to somewhere between 20 and 50.

I’m talking about posting to Twitter and/or Facebook which (when I’m not updating my Foursquare location or replying to emails) would account for quite a bit of my personal output on the net since Christmas 09

Blogging (it has to be said) is still a lot of fun – you can get down a lot more thoughts on the screen in one single effort than you would otherwise succeed by putting the same effort in to numerous tweets or status updates.

That said, blogging takes more effort.

In the evening when you are tired after of a long day spent in front of the screen coding HTML it’s not so appealing a past time as perhaps it once was in the halcyon days before full time web focused roles were part of my working landscape.

I’m not moaning,  just (for whatever reason) trying to make sence of why it is that I have not been as active poster to my own blog in 2010 as I was in 2009.

Talk again next month…… kidding!
