Recently I’ve found myself revisiting several musical scores from movies enjoyed over the last decade or so.

A common thread linking all of the films has been the composer Jerry Goldsmith.

Perhaps best known for his work on the Star Trek film franchise, Goldsmith had been working for many years prior as a composer for assorted television series and other film projects.

If you look back over the last thirty years or so you would be surprised as to the level of influence and impact this one man had on the emotional landscape of the entertainment industry at the time.

He certainly knew his craft.
